I weep for Palestine. As a Filipino, and as a Christian, I used to sympathize with Israel before. But the horrific scenes of mass slaughter and mass starvation are simply too much. In the name of humanity, let us stop this senseless killing of innocent civilians in Gaza.
Overall, Indiana played gracious host for this year’s edition of the All-Star Weekend. There were plenty of stuff for the fans to be happy about, from the proud basketball history of Indiana, to pre-game concerts to the different competitions offered. But it was the Steph-Sab Show that clearly dominated the weekend – and saved the day; as the main course, the All-Star Game, proved to be just another oversized round-robin affair for the all-stars.
“Winning the war” is not what counts most. What is more important is “Winning the peace”. Winning the war has only 1 winner, while in winning the peace, it is the entire humanity that collectively takes the win.
They were graduates of PMA. They were young lieutenants. They were sons of distinguished general-officers. Yet they chose to take the difficult path, and joined the Scout Rangers.
So much to be thankful for, most especially for inculcating the virtues of Courage, Integrity and Loyalty, values that have guided me in navigating life’s challenges with grace; principles that have helped me contribute in my own small way to the creation of a more just, honorable and harmonious world.
This should be a game similar to the inaugural In-Season Tourney Finals between Lebron James’ Lakers versus Tyrese Halliburton’s Pacers, who incidentally are both starters in this match. In that championship game, Lebron’s bigger, stronger veterans upended Tyrese’s smaller, speedier youngsters. This All-Star game will pit Team Lebron’s size and experience against Team Giannis’ speed and youth.
