to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy… and to laugh along the way
Looking back, I’m grateful for those early days of sun and games, for the friendships that added so much color and excitement into my life, and for the teachers and mentors who showed me that effort and heart can carry you far. I carry those memories with me as my little badge of honor, trusting that the future holds brighter paths to run, write, and remember those good old days.
If I close my eyes, I can still hear the echo of those days – the creak of the tartanilya’s wheels, my mother’s whispered prayers tucked into the din of the church bells, even the frenzied sounds of children playing during recess. Those early memories provide moments of innocent laughter that fill my corner of the world with so much life. These moments of loving and learning settled deep into my young child’s heart.
From rocky paths to steadfast hope, our journey has been defined by resilience and faith. As I look to our future, I dream of more sunsets holding your hand firmly in mine, more conversations that stretch into the night, more adventures small and grand, and more moments that remind us why we chose this life together.
As we move into 2026, my resolve is to steward these blessings with gratitude, to continue nurturing the growth of the companies I have been entrusted with with integrity; and to honor the trust of those who have joined us on this journey. May we all be mindful of the gifts around us, extend generosity to others, and carry forward a spirit of hope and resilience in the year ahead.
Thank you, Bets, for the friendship and love you showered us. Thank you for teaching us about life’s many challenges, making sure that we are able to navigate through them as painlessly as possible. And thank you for touching our lives with so much positivity and grace.
The late Pope Francis was popular known as “the People’s Pope”. Or as some would want to view him, as “the Pope of the Slums”. Here in the Philippines, he was fondly called “Lolo Kiko”, He will be remembered with great affection and respect.
