I’d like to invite all basketball-crazy fans out there – whether you’re from the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia or not – to come and join us as we celebrate the greatness and beauty of the sport. And what better way than to personally watch the best players don their national colors in a friendly joust. Cheer for your team, and if you don’t have a team representing your country, cheer for your favorite players or favorite country.
Overall, the key factors that will matter most in these last few games in the regular season will be: how the new players (Durant, Irving, Westbrook, etc) integrate into their new teams’ systems; how the injuries (Lebron, Durant, Zion, Towns, etc) affect their teams’ standings at the end of the season; and how other issues (Morant, Wiggins) pan out. We have here a long list of outstanding players. But do they fit in? Will they bring out the best out of the rest of the crew? Are they healthy enough – physically and mentally – for the rigors of the playoffs?
This year’s Euro Basket Championship proved to be as exciting in its unpredictability and creativity. And it provided as much entertainment and joy for fans across the globe. To the organizers and players, cheers. Thanks for the great memories.
Two heavy favorites and 2 upstarts slug it out for the chance to go to the NBA Finals. It’s Steph vs Luka; Jimmy vs Jayson; as different styles, different strokes clash in the Conference Finals.
Vilified no end for having lost a sure-win 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets in the Bubble Playoffs last year, the Clippers bounced back not once, but twice against the vastly-improved Mavericks. The team simply refused to give up in the face of extreme adversity. It was a character win that certainly won the hearts of many.
Today, the Clippers and the Mavs square off for the final time this season. Whoever wins advances to the next round, the loser goes home for a long vacation. How this show will end will depend much on the enigma that is the Clippers.
