With the Aces taking home the championship trophy, this year’s WNBA season ends. It has been a great season with ticket sales and TV ratings moving up the scales. The arrival of Caitlin Clark last year, as well as others who folowed, have done tremendous wonders for the league, and it is time now for the league to reflect on its growth as the collective bargaining negotiations begins soon.
This series looks to be an exciting one, with both teams preferring the fast tempo. Whoever outspeeds the other, whoever wins the sprint battle to their respective frontcourts, will have the inside track to win this series.
Now down to the Final 4, we have the Minnesota Lynx locking horns with the revitalized Phoenix Mercury. And in the other match-up, it’s the retooled former champs, Las Vegas Aces, going against the undermanned, but Feverishly-hot Indiana.
Eight teams clash for the right to move to the next playoff round. My bets? It will be the Minnesota Lynx and the Las Vegas Aces breezing through, while the New York Liberty and the Indiana Fever will upset the odds to complete the round of four. Gentlemen, place your bets!!!
Team Collier has more experience and more maturity among its players; while Team Clark appears younger and more into innovation and creative moves. Overall, Team Collier has a total of 54 All-Star appearances among themselves, compared to only 26 appearances for the much younger Team Clark.
Caitlin’s year of experience will certainly give the team far better options this year, while the new additions bring a wealth of knowledge and versatility to the team. As they develop chemistry on the court, the Indiana Fever is set to become a formidable force in the league, paving the way for an exciting era of basketball for both the franchise and the team’s growing legions of fans.
