The movement to Reform Philippine Sports (RP Sports) came into being due to the growing clamor to arrest the tide of disrepute in Philippine Sports. Athletes and sports fans have closed ranks. People are now slowly waking up. Indifferent no more, people now realize that a weak Philippine Sports image will affect the youth of tomorrow. It will also reflect on a weak, ill-disciplined, unprofessional people. It is time for change. A time for Reform and Renewal.
The Filipino people, with the help of government, must work hard to save whatever is left of Philippine sports. It is time for the Filipino people to unite and stand against the tyranny of the Coup Pals in POC.
POC coup pals, your time is up. You’ve had more than a decade to show your worth. You blew it. Bigtime. Now you want to portray true virtue, like the wolves-disguised-as-sheep that you really are. Enough is enough. Why don’t you take one long look at the mirror. Perhaps you’ll see it’s time for the younger, new generation of leaders to give it a try.
The Toronto – Golden State match-up has been a fun and enlightening series to watch. It provided us great new insights of a new cage kingdom unfolding. Here’s a toast to the NBA’s 2018-2019 season. And a toast too, to our new champions, the Toronto Raptors.
Will this be the end of the Warriors’ dynasty? Will they come back for another run next year? My sense is that we haven’t heard the last from these heroic Warriors yet. As the great late coach Rudy Tomjanovich said: “Don’t ever underestimate the heart of a champion.”
