Six young men, all PMA graduates, all lieutenants, all Scout Rangers, all sons of general officers with four bearing their father’s first name—all fell under combat conditions while in noble service to the nation. They could have easily stayed on safer grounds; instead, they chose the difficult path. They chose to be Scout Rangers.
We were once upon a time grizzled warriors – fighting, bleeding, dying and surviving together through nameless battles – accomplishing remarkable feats, enduring heartbreaking losses, making silly mistakes and, as the Scout Ranger Song goes: “seeking and fighting and laughing and loving, Scout Rangers of fortune are we!”
Indeed, the present Gilas men’s basketball program continues to make waves. They may not be as star-studded as the FIBA World Cup edition under coach Chot, but the team chemistry, the winners’ mindset, and the basic fundamentals in both defense and offense are there. What Coach Tim has done has been a minor miracle, building up the right environment to make this team what it is today.
The stakes are indeed high, and the judges’ choice made in this title fight-of-an-election will certainly have profound implications not just for multiverse America, but for the trajectory of the inter-galactic community itself.
Understanding the broader context of climate-related disasters such as these tropical storms can help us respond to future crises better. We must continue learning about sustainable practices and disaster preparedness to empower our communities to better withstand future storms.
Recently, the Business Network International (BNI) Foundation came up with a great program visiting a school to give nuggets of wisdom and inspiration to our young students. I was lucky to be given that wonderful opportunity to break bread with the students of Muntinglupa.
