When More is Less, and Less is More

Team chemistry is that intangible ingredient that will make or unmake a team. It refers to the synergy, cohesion and healthy relationships among teammates. It provides the supportive environment that leads to cooperation, and ultimately, success. Thus, in a team sport like basketball, the acquisition of star players may not necessarily lead to success. They have to fit in, they have to gain the trust and confidence of everyone in the team. They have to strive to optimize the bond that keeps the team focused on one goal.

A Salute to the Heroes of Yultong

To commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Battle of Yultong, I am reblogging this piece on the heroism of the 10th Battalion Combat Team (10th BCT) during those crucial 2 days of non-stop fighting. The article chronicles the events that eventually gave birth to the nickname: The Fighting Filipinos. It is my hope that with stories such as these, we may be able to inculcate a sense of nationalism and a stronger pride in our country and people, particularly the youth of today.

End of a Golden Era

The Warriors’ dynasty is over. Klay will now be a free agent, with no indication that the team will be able to afford him a fat contract. The volatile Draymond still has 2 years in his contract, but his unpredictable character is reportedly causing too much tension among the new faces in the team. With Steph Curry now reaching 36 years of age, the Big 3 (plus Paul and Wiggins) appear to be in the tail-end of their once-glitzy careers.
