The NBA is off to a flying start. There are new players, new alignment of stars and new coaches. As the performance of some older stars start to dip (Lebron James et al), there are mid-level stars who are ready to take over (Devin Booker, Jamal Murray, etc). Plus there are exciting high-flying rookies whose death-defying moves bode well for the NBA. And European-bred players euro-stepping their way to the league. The in-season mini-tourney for the first-ever NBA Cup is something to look forward to. It tells us that the NBA is dynamic and forward-looking. It is creative with good ideas and are willing to try them. Let’s see how it goes.
The Denver Nuggets have never won an NBA title before. They have reached the Conference Finals 5 times, the last one in the Bubble in 2020. This time, the Nuggets are aiming to go all the way to grab the NBA crown.
With the abbreviated Play-in completed, the Brooklyn Nets, the Atlanta Hawks, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans step forward to claim their slots
The Suns now have what it takes to match up against the best in every position, plus a bench that could be the envy of most coaches in the NBA.
All things considered, the season-opening games have demonstrated how complex the league will look in the months ahead. Both faves – the Lakers and the Nets – were shot down right at the starting gates. Other favorites – the Bucks and the Suns – were just as easily ambushed. The season will be a long unpredictable one, with health becoming the biggest factor.
