The AFP (thru OJ7) and the US Marine Forces Pacific (MarForPac) Experimentation Center will be co-hosting a Philippine/US Technology Workshop at the Intercon Hotel in Makati from 5-8 Nov 2012. The Workshop will provide a forum for the development of local inventions, particularly in the field of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HA/DR). The Workshop will provide an overview on different technologies that could be used in the Philippines for the upcoming joint exercises in Balikatan, etc. It will also tackle the proposed construction of a Science and Technology Experimentation Center for HA/DR.
SoftPower Philippines (SPP), with its vision to champion the cause of local inventors and innovators, will join the said workshop in order to introduce more local technologies for possible incubation with US research and development (R&D) institutions. SPP’s commitment in the fields of community empowerment, green technologies, sustainable environment and disaster resilience fits right into the Workshop’s purpose and objectives. You can visit the SPP website at: http://www.softpower.ph.
Should you have any inventions or innovations that can be utilized for HA/DR, or any wild ideas you would like our inventors to work on, please email us at: softpowerphilippines@gmail.com.
