Buchi’s a Big Boy Now

My grandson, Buchi, is turning 4 very soon. How he’s quickly grown from being a cute baby to a luvable toddler to an impish pre-schooler is still a surprise to me. If you ask me, I wish he’d remain that happy, cheerful kiddo whose smile could turn my cloudy days bright oh-so-effortlessly. I wish that I could enjoy his silly antics some more. I wish he’d forever stay the same fun-loving, mischievous tyke with nary a care in the world.

But time can’t stand still.

And so he grows.

And grows.

In no time, this innocent-looking kid will shake free from the hand-holding, the parent-kissing, the endless safety reminders. In no time, he’ll be out trying to look cool with the gang. And in no time, the gurls! I can just see it now. Oh, how he’ll terrorize the girls!!!

They used to call me a ‘lady-killer’ during my younger days. Yeah. In Bisaya, they’d say: “Lady-killer, kay mamatay na lang ang babaye, dili pa gihapon kasulti!” (Because I was so timid then, the lady’d be dead already before I can even say a thing.) I’m sure Buchi won’t be anything like that.

Watch out, world! Buchi’s coming to town!

  1. 💜 This is Beautiful!!! EveryOne; here is a REASON!!! for The Joy of Childhood because Kids Know More than Groan Ups Do but are unable to articulate…ergo, there is a phase of suffering from about age six EveryBody; if we don’t recover from this phase of suffering in 3D we tend to die miserable and mourned by few and many turn up at our funeral just to make sure we are dead…so it Pays to Pay Attention because InAttention means Paying a Price; ergo, Energetically Evolve in to Being a KiDult…an Adult that has returned to the Purity of the ChildLike State with ALL The Benefits of Being an Adult, I Suggest Give YOUR!!! EEP!!! (Energetic Evolution Process!!!) The Green Light

    1. Yey!!! So now, I must declare myself a KiDult, Yernesia!!! Yes, we must continue to feel and nurture the kid in each one of us. It will keep us forever young! 🙂

  2. Precious photographs, such a treasure. He is adorable, indeed! (And what kid doesn’t love dinosaurs!) Enjoy him while he’s little, they grow so very fast. Thanks so much for sharing these with us, Charly. Greetings from a fellow blogger from Florence, SC, USA, who is living with three of her great-grandkids now, ages 11, 6 and 4.
